SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS

7-th International Workshop "Speech and Computer" SPECOM'2002 was held in St-Petersburg September 2-5 2002. The aim of Workshop was to discuss the ROBUST SPEECH UNDERSTANDING (RSU) problem. This choice was made in connection with remarkable growth of attention of lots world experts to this subject. According our opinion RSU has become now a crucial problem on the way of efficient intellectual applications creation and needs especial interdisciplinary co-ordination/efforts. We discussed some aspects of speech recognition/understanding, which are closely connected with RSU problem, for example:

LANGUAGE: English is the official language of the workshop.

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE: Prospective authors should submit the abstracts in English of 400-500 words by Email. Submissions should include a title, author's names, affiliations, address, telephone and fax numbers and e-mail address. Camera-ready full papers in English (4 or 6 pages) will be published in the proceedings distributed at the workshop. The paper must be sent to the Organizing Committee by e-mail. Instructions about the form of camera-ready papers will be distributed later.

EXCURSIONS:
There will be possible excursions to some research and education institutions belonging to the 'Educational Research Center for Speech and Language'.

REGISTRATION:
Registration fees are arranged as following:
Western participants - $ 300; Western students - $ 150;
Central Europe participants - $ 180; Central Europe students - $ 80;
Russian and former SU states participants - $ 100; Russian students - free of charge.
The fees include the Reception, a copy of the workshop Proceedings, all workshop material, admission to all sessions and to the exhibition, banquet, coffee break refreshments and transportation of foreign participants from Airport.
Additional Proceedings copy is $15.

ACCOMODATION:
All the participants will be provided with comfortable hotel according their choice based on our information.

Notification of acceptance:                  15 May 2002
Submission of camera-ready papers:   1 July 2002
Workshop:                                         2-5 September 2002
Some cultural program will be offered in weekend and other days.
